Just finished the promo for the upcoming Youth Alive Conference in WA in April. It had a quick turn around and not much footage to work with. So I hit the web looking for some content for the guest speakers and since its in Perth I had a city skyline pic that I shot a while back so I just cut that out in photoshop. I used a grungy brick wall texture for the main background and made a few other layers in photoshop with some grunge and a dotted half tone gradient. I used the shake preset from video copilot on the camera in After Effects to give it a bit of movement throughout and no video is complete with some optical flares (In my opinion you can never have enough flares haha). I also used the swing tilt film preset from Magic Bullet to give it a bit of a different perspective so it didn't look too clean. It's a pretty simple concept and i'm pretty happy with it considering the timeline I did it in and the track pretty much makes it for me!

All in all it was a pretty fun project. I always get a bit unsure of whether I like my work when Im about 70-80 percent done but you gotta persevere and most times in the end I'll look back and be happy with the outcome. I would have liked to work on the concept a bit more which was some inspiration from a few other vids I saw and just a bit of playing around in After Effects but theres gotta be a balance between perfection and getting something done by the deadline. It's a fine line!
